This is a cut-down of the full-length program “Shoshone Voices, Native Choices”, a documentary covering the revolutionary project at the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, DC and the Museum of the American Indian on the Washington Mall. The project was created to invite members of many tribes of North American to come to Washington for the purpose of identifying the thousands of Native American artifacts that reside in the Smithsonian’s archives in Suitland, Maryland. When Hurricane Katrina devastated the Gulf Coast, a group of friends saw a need for action and answered the call. Steve Manshel led this great team of volunteers and together, with his band and special guest entertainers, they rocked a late September night. They raised dollars for disaster relief and inspired friends and business to get behind this important cause. |
